King Edward Memorial Park is a public open space ion the northern bank of the River Thames. It was opened in 1922 in memory of King Edward VII.

Meath Gardens

ADDRESS Meath Gardens, E2 0EL. Meath Gardens was formerly the privately-owned Victoria Park Cemetery established in 1842. It closed to burials in 1876 having fallen into disuse, but its Gothic entrance arch remains. By 1885 it was in a very poor state and the MPGA approached the owner for permission to lay it out as a public garden.

Mile End Park

Mile End Park is unusual. It was created as a result of a plan for London in the 1940s, which envisaged that there would be several green areas connecting different areas of London to the River Thames. As a result the park has been created from land brought into park uses over 50 years – much of it formerly housing and industrial buildings.

Millwall Park

Millwall Park offers a variety of facilities, mostly for active recreation. It has football pitches, cricket, bowls, play areas (toddlers, juniors and older children), a play centre for under 5s and changing rooms. There are paths for strolling, seats, trees, meadows and other planting for biodiversity and scenic value.
